About Michael Sunday

Michael and Laura Sunday founded Sunday & Associates,Inc. as an employment agency in the data processing field.

I have been a working recruiter since 1980, we opened our own office in ’82. My experience spans software technology, financial services, actuarial sciences, statistics, data mining & database marketing, healthcare, financial software and consulting in all those fields.

Over the past ten years our office migrated from software engineering into new industries including Systems Support, Statistics and Healthcare. We still deal with some general business clients but increasingly the focus has been toward statistical, quantitative analytics, management in analytical departments and upper management mostly in healthcare. I work with experienced recruiters in other fields where required.

Recruiting is our main business but I enjoy selling, presenting concepts and I can grasp a presentation quickly. I am always looking for the opportunity to be the initial presenter of a business idea working with marketeers who conclude the deals. There is not a name for this interest, I like to pitch good ideas.

Prior to recruitment I was a Director of Artist & Repertoire in the music industry at three major labels, CBS, Capitol and Vanguard Records. I also founded Waterhouse Records with partners in Minneapolis. I produced or served as the executive producer for album projects with such artists as Leo Kottke, Minnie Riperton, Redbone, Phil Austin of the Firesign Theater, Harry Shearer & Michael McKean (Spinal Tap), Henny Youngman, Elvin Bishop, Jessie Ed Davis, Diana Hubbard (L. Ron's daughter) and many others.

In 1995 my book of technology humor "This Is Your Brain On The Internet" was published by Ziff Davis Press. I am concluding a novel about an extraordinary young woman entitled “Kate McGill, Romanian Cold Hand”.

I received a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and studied for an M.P.H. at UC Berkeley. Laura and I have two children, Jessie and Gabriel.

See Gabriel’s website www.gabrielsunday.com. Watch for his movie “My Suicide” in 2009. A talented kid. Laura has at least three websites for her events, see www.sundayusa.com/lsunday.htm. Our daughter Jessie works for the Birthright program with the Jewish Federation in Los Angeles. A determined, fun-loving young woman.

I hike and bicycle daily around Sonoma County. I am on the steering committee of a group working to save 14 acres in Petaluma, www.slcrr.org. Also excessively devoted to our stunningly smart border collie, Scuba. Even deaf he’s sharper than most people.

I wrote 90% of Protect Your Future Now, www.pyfnow.com. Good intentions awaiting further development.
